Dr. Diaz is running for Los Angeles City Council District 14 because she is dedicated to restoring the core principles of Respect, Integrity, Transparency, and Service. Her mission is to guarantee that all stakeholders have a voice and a seat at the table in terms of planning and decision-making processes, fostering a more optimistic future for Los Angeles City Council District 14.
She is a third-generation constituent of CD 14 whose journey has been marked by a relentless commitment to creating positive change for all people. Unlike most candidates, she is neither a career politician looking for his/her next job, nor an individual who just moved into the district to run for city council or interested in becoming a council member to run for Mayor or California State Lieutenant Governor.
Dr. Diaz is a health professional who has been employed in the district for 30 years and continues to volunteer her time as a community advocate and leader to improve the needs of the constituents living in the district and the city.
Like many of you, she is very concerned and disappointed at the lack of leadership perpetuated by political corruption that continues to hurt the district in terms of health, be it cultural, economic, environmental, mental, physical, and social determinants of health of the constituents who have been ignored and neglected for the past 50 years.
After 30 years as a health professional, Dr. Diaz is ready to leave her job and take on the responsibilities as councilwoman to reinstate Respect, Integrity, Transparency and Service for all people in every neighborhood throughout CD 14.

Nadine’s campaign is centered on advocating for families, seniors, young adults and students on important issues, while identifying and allocating much needed resources to traditionally under-resourced neighborhoods of the 14th district. She will approach the business of governing in a professional manner — conduct business in a way that brings honor to the office of Councilmember of CD 14 by working together as a body, modeling teamwork and civility for our community.
As a third-generation stakeholder of CD 14, Nadine understands that the various neighborhoods have suffered neglect over the last five decades due to lack of respect for the office of Councilmember and the stakeholders of the district. She will treat the office and the stakeholders with the respect that is long overdue with openness and transparency in local government, listening to constituent feedback, working together as a body, modeling teamwork and civility for our community while challenging people equally to be accountable.
Due to corruption, scandal and continual campaigning for the next elected office, there has been little to no focus or interest in doing the job of Councilmember for the 14th District. Nadine will demonstrate honesty and integrity in every action and statement; inspire public confidence in our city government; maintaining high standards of integrity in the use of public funds and work for the common good not personal interest. She will be making the tough decisions when they have to be made and believes in accessible government. Nadine will consistently seek ways to forge and cultivate neighborhood partnerships within the district.
Open Budgets
Nadine will work to getting the publishing detailed budgets that clearly explain how public funds are allocated and spent in the 14th District. By doing so, residents and community stakeholders can understand where their tax dollars are used and together a real discussion about the financial decisions can be had.
Public Meetings and Hearings
Nadine will host and participate in public meetings, consultations, and hearings on essential policy decisions and wants residents and stakeholders to participate and express their views. She plans to live stream and post public meetings, town halls, and other community gatherings so that community members will be able to attend virtually or watch later. This will allow busy stakeholders to learn about local matters, engage in dialogue, and become informed on community issues when and where it fits their schedule.
Nadine will ensure that all stakeholders will be up to speed on the latest issues that affect their lives. She will fully participate in city council meetings and other public forums, prepare in advance of council meetings, be familiar with issues on the agenda and ask questions before the meetings and vote appropriately to increase council effectiveness; and strive for consensus and seek common ground ensuring the best outcome for the city and CD 14.
Nadine's approach involves collaborating with local law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and residents to address safety concerns, reduce crime, and foster a sense of belonging and trust among neighbors.
